Multi user and multi scanner
A single physical kiosk can be shared among several users who have access to it each one in turn. It is the type of « photocopy machine » which is set in the hall or on every floor in the company. The digital kiosk concept also manages several scanners connected with PCs in intranet configuration and accessible from the digital interface Documalis which can be launched on all user’s PCs, even if they are not directly connected with he scanner. This operating mode authorizes the sharing of one or more scanners in the same office by all users who have access rights.
Security
The use of the digital kiosk requires a user identification by means of a password which can be managed directly by Documalis or retrieved from a LDAP directory or an Active Directory. This operating mode simplifies the management of passwords and reduces the risks of hacking in the document management system by non-authorized individuals.
Remote Utilization
Digital kiosks can be easily launched on remote sites (clients, agencies, warehouses, retail outlets, logistics partners) and they can be connected by a simple low throughput Internet link with a main site or they can send digitalized documents. All exchange of information with the main site are encrypted, protected, transfers are non synchronistic with automatic re-launching depending on the need. Documalis Process Server or Workflow Server handles, at the outset, the automatic processing of the document according to its type, to the user connection and the digital kiosk used.
