Uses
Desktop Office for Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook allows users to launch their document processing, directly in Office applications:
• Editing of a document for a list of addressees : internal, partners, service providers, remote sites …
• Launching of a Workflow based on the document being edited : Excel invoice, incoming in Outlook, validation of a Powerpoint presentation of products …
• Insertion of a document directly in the document management system, on a shared and protected disk on the network, publication on the Web site of the company without FTP access from users’ PCs …
• Document search in the management system, directly in Office products and direct initialling in Microsoft application.
• Automatic conversion of Word, Excel, or Powerpoint documents into PDF format, with standard company header and footer.
Working with ease
Desktop Basket can be installed in a matter of seconds on users’ PCs and it places at their disposal tool bars which are complementary to 2003 and 2007Microsoft Office XP software, for its use is natural for IT users because they are integrated in the products.
Connection with Document Server
Desktop Office authorises direct document search from Word, Excel or Powerpoint, in Document Viewer ou Document Server and allows you to import the document directly in the related software. The user has rights to update the document in Document Server directly with the management of the related version.
Indexing and Workflow
Editing of documents towards Document Viewer ou Document Server may require the user’s identification; it proposes the capture of different indexes or the classification in a virtual structure, depending on the configuration of Desktop Office. Documents thus collected can be used to launch Workflowto circulate information among several users for information or validation purposes, or it can be integrated in a Process for automatic analysing and processing of the content.
