Document management in Web mode allows the search and browsing of documents via a simple Internet Explorer 5.5+ browser or Mozilla. Document search can be launched by their content in full text mode, via a multicriteria index or according to a hierarchical structure. Document Server is equipped with a presentation in the form of a table or by twin-size thumbnails, a preview and remote access to the PDF.

Document Server: Advanced Search

Documalis Document Server helps carry out complex and practically instantaneous search with regard to the text content of documents thanks to the built-in Google Search engine. Other search modes are also available: by type of document, by screening one or several indexes, by following the classification plan defined for the documents or directly in the directory structure for the storage of the documents on the hard disk. The search result is presented in the form of index tables or thumbnails for an immediate visual identification of documents. The thumbnails come in 2 sizes and the documents can be previewed before they are downloaded and opened by the user.

Typology of documents
Documalis Document Server helps define various types of documents including specific indexes and, as an option, a hierarchical classification plan to nth level. All documents are indexed at the time of their insertion in the document base so as to be immediately available for consultation by users.

Storage and Backup
Documalis Document Server utilizes a simple and robust storage architecture: the documents are archived in a secured NTFS disk directory and they are described by a proprietary database (a single backup file), SQL Server or Oracle containing the indexes, the classification plan and all the information relating to the documents. A classical backup is effected by copying the disk containing the documents and the related data base.

Direct Access to documents
It is possible to have direct access to the documents by the hard disk with Windows copyright, or via an URL publication unique for each document. This allows the easy linking of the Document Server to other business applications in the company so as to make full use of the company’s valuable information found in documents.
