Documalis Scanner is the simple and intuitive user interface of scanners and photocopiers to Digitizing documents. A brief presentation suffices in order to understand how to digitize single pages or batches with a separator, how to classify them and index them directly. Complementary despatch functions optimized by Email or by Fax can enrich the storage and classification system of documents.

Direct driving of scanners

Documalis Scanner directly drives any type of scanner equipped with a Twain interface. It displays its real capacity and worth when, connected with a professional scanner like the Kodak i40 or its equivalent, 3 minutes are sufficient to digitize a 100-page document with maximum resolution…

Utilisation with connected photocopiers
Documalis Scanner interfaces also with most photocopiers so as to make the best of their scanning function. However, in as much as such an operational mode requires an initial operation on the photocopier (taking into account the ergonomics of the equipment), the comfort, the speed and the security of a professional scanner directly connected with a Digitizing kiosk cannot be matched. Once the digitization has been completed on the photocopier, Documalis Scanner takes over and moves in for the processing of images with all advanced functionalities: cancellation of blank pages, segregation of batches by means of barcodes, indexing in a single sweep etc.

Indexing of documents
Digitizing documents can be typed and indexed as from the digitization phases, directly into the Documalis Scanner. This stage in the processing does not block the scanner, for it remains available to other users as soon as the digitization phase is completed, thus providing significant gains in productivity for services involved (mailing, purchasing, accounting, observance of norms and quality assurance…). These pieces of information relating to the documents can be part of an indexing workflow at a later stage in Documalis Workflow or in Document Server.

Observance of standards
Documalis Scanner is in conformity with the clauses of the AFNOR NFZ 42-013 norm with regard to the digitization of documents and technical information collected on production scanners.
