Virtual environments
The Documalis solution can be entirely virtualised using market leading technologies: VMWare, Virtual PC, Citrix XEN, VirtualBox or Proxmox. Storage drives can be virtualised via a SAN storage array and SQL Server Oracle or MySQL databases on dedicated servers. Virtualisation makes creating disaster recovery plans simple.
Installation requirements
Documalis requires few resources to function correctly:
Minimum configuration (<10 users) Pentium IV 2GHz processor, 512 MB RAM running Windows XP, 2GB of disk space for data.
Recommended configuration Intel Core i5 quadcore, 4GB RAM running Windows 7/2008, 10GB of disk space for data. Documalis software has no other requirements (neither Java or .Net nor Apache, nor PHP...) and is thus compatible with all Windows systems from XP onwards.
On your servers
The Documalis suite is available as software for installation on your company's production servers. This optimises your ROI on your hardware infrastructures such as SAN, file servers and database servers, virtual processing servers. Documalis will also run on a dedicated and economical physical server.
The security of your data
Documalis incorporates its own system of differential or full backup to guarantee the security of your data. A software replication or RAID or SAN type hardware replication can complement daily backups to minimise the risk of loss between backups.
Close integration with information systems
Documalis benefits from the existing software infrastructure (directories and Active Directory) and easily integrates into market solutions such as intranet, office automation and groupware. Its application connectors to solutions such as ERP, CRM, Accounting, CAPM and its EAI, ETL, SOA engines facilitate the integration of documents from EDM and workflow within enterprise business applications.
Simplified installation
Documalis installation is extremely simple and has a built-in assistant. In jsut 30 minutes, on average, you can start working! User workstations can benefit from, in addition to full web online interface, the "Documalis In-tray" a fat client easily deployed in portable mode (without installation) and directly executable from a shared network drive as required.
Integrated scanner or
connected copier
Documalis Box solutions integrate a range of professional scanners from 20 to 160 pages per minute, with loaders, flatbed glass... They can also automatically retrieve scanned images from a networked multifunction copier. All capture devices can be controlled by Documalis Express to preview the document and its routing to document processing, workflow, email, a network directory or a direct insertion into the EDM.
Integrated backup
All our Box products integrate backup procedures for their data. These backup procedures can be scheduled daily or initiated on demand. They also include the ability to remotely control technical operations for maintenance or upgrades of embedded software in the absence of an auto-update.
The concept
The Box concept is now widely used in various fields of activity. This installation provides security and peace of mind: nothing to install, it just needs to be connected! The Documalis Express version of the Box includes the hardware, software, customisation and support to ensure a single contact person and maximum simplicity.
Simplified installation
The Documalis Express Box is preconfigured with settings specific to your project so that installation just involves connecting an electric and network cable, with no on-site assistance required, combining speed and economy for high volume or multi-site roll-outs.
Zero administration
Documalis Box solutions require no operating procedures. The server is self-monitored and sends alerts to administrators in case of any detected anomalies: insufficient disk space, saturated RAM, degraded CPU performance, abnormally high temperature, abnormal fan rotation speed, etc. Alerts are displayed on the screen and can be sent by email or consolidated on a web dashboard for large-scale deployments with multi-point architecture for agencies, stores and warehouses...
Backup Edition version
The Box line of products also have "Backup Edition" versions, specifically dedicated to backing up Box products deployed remotely or in server rooms. According to the type of configuration, Backup Edition Box products can automatically duplicate data from other Box products (configuration, documents, databases) by synchronising over LAN or WAN, periodically scheduled or at the request of a system administrator.
Natively SaaS
The Documalis Express solution was designed from the ground up to work in web mode, in client/server mode or hosted over the Internet. All interfaces for Mail, Document Management and Workflow are natively available in standard web browsers IE or Firefox, and In-tray like clients, virtual printers and remote scanning all interact in webservice mode or TCP/IP with Documalis servers hosted locally or over the Internet. The Documalis Express SaaS version leverages secure online communications technologies (XML, webservices, SOA, HTTP, SSL).
Principle
The Documalis Express solution is also available hosted online, eliminating installation of software, servers or a Box in your company. This is the SaaS, Software as a Service, method.
Security
The Documalis product offers exclusively private and dedicated servers that are solely used for your office, to guarantee the confidentiality of information stored and to avoid any risk of disclosure in your exchanges with your employees and your customers.
Use
The private server made available by Documalis can serve both a company, a firm and clients or employees present at remote sites, to submit and retrieve scanned documents or those printed using our virtual printers. Documalis Express solutions are customised as much to the particular issues of agencies spread over a region and connected by a simple broadband connection to the needs of small work groups that deal with large masses of papers on a daily basis.

These servers have a "pay as you go" price structure which depends on the number of employees, defined processes and enabled client accounts, allowing a minimum investment at first, with time to see the value of digitisation and to offer your clients who freely benefit from Documalis software for viewing, scanning and transferring generated PDF files to your SaaS web server.
